Why does CMB choose a rights issue as the means to raise fund?
A rights issue for both A and H shares allows the holders of A shares and H shares an equal opportunity to participate in the equity-financing. Through a serious study and careful consideration, we believe a rights issue is better received by the capital market. Recently, many large international financial institutions such as HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank and DBS completed rights issues successfully.
