Probably… It certainly removes one of the ways that CO2 gets removed from the atmosphere. And thus increases the net CO2 in the atmosphere – which does indeed increase the temperature of the Earth. However, it’s not quite that simply, because it depends on how the change of land use changes albedo. If the albedo of the earth is increased, we reflect more sunlight and negate the added CO2. On ther other hand – it could be a double whammy – if the change in land use also decreases albedo!
