Why does CHKDSK report “Cleaning up XXX unused …”?
The typical detailed error messages are the following (XXX are numbers): Cleaning up XXX unused index entries from index $SII of file 0×9. Cleaning up XXX unused index entries from index $SDH of file 0×9. Cleaning up XXX unused security descriptors. These messages are part of an optimization process which is completely independent of NTFS-3G. Nothing to worry about them. Workaround: No need. Status: Not NTFS-3G problem.
