Why does CheckFrees Home Page offer FREE Bill Payment, yet Farmers charges $6.00 for the Service when I access it through Online Banking?
CheckFree’s Home Page offering is different from the BillPay Service accessed from within Online Banking. Customers signing up for CheckFree’s Free Service are only permitted to create payments’ destine for companies listed in the Service’s ‘Payee List.’ The Payee List consists of company names which ‘participate’ with CheckFree (bound by contract). Participating companies provide ‘E-Bills’, through CheckFree, to their customers — ‘paper bills’ are not mailed.
