Why does car compass always read N to NE ?
I am guessing that you mean it reads NE when you are headed North. The reason for that would be the migration of the North magnetic pole. It is moving from Canada toward Siberia. Because the magnetic pole is southwest of geographic north and the compass points to magnetic north, if you are headed toward geographic north, your compass would read northeast.
