Why Does Cable Not Have the Same International Programming as Satellite TV?

0

Cable’s international programming is very limited as opposed to satellite television. This is due to the different transmittal routes. Satellite television carry’s over 500 digital channels compared to the 100+ of cable. This allows satellite to carry programming that appeals to a niche market. The cost to cable companies to carry specific programming for a market that exists nationwide but is very limited in their geographic region would not make sense financially.
