Why does Burien want to annex part of the North Highline Unincorporated Area?
King County and its cities agree that all urban unincorporated areas in the County will eventually be absorbed into cities. It is believed that this will result in more efficient delivery of services and improved access to local decision-makers. In accordance with Washington States Growth Management Act (GMA) and Countywide Planning Policies, Burien has been studying the most reasonable and financially responsible means to advance the goals of the Growth Management Act.
