Why does Britain still have the monarchy?
Because it is much better than having a dictator or a party political head of state that changes every few years. Many countries have chosen to reinstate there monarchy’s, because of the many benefits. A monarch is politically neutral so can be supported by all of a country’s citizens. A monarch has had a lifetimes training and experience so is usually a much better ambassador for the country than a president. A monarch gain you better access to other royal families, facilitating better international relations. A monarchy is much, much cheaper than having a presidency. A constitutional monarchy is more democratic than a president elected by a minority of the people. The British monarch attracts huge tourist revenue. The Queen is the most famous and most respected person in the world, giving Britain higher international status than it would otherwise have.
