Why does BitTorrent or other Peer 2 Peer (P2P) software not work?
A. As K-State’s network is provided primarily as an academic resource, Peer 2 Peer (P2P) applications and file sharing are strictly prohibited. This type of network activity has been prevented from functioning on the K-State network. Any user found engaging in this type of activity will be blocked from network access. If blocked, you may have your internet privileges revoked among other possible academic, criminal, civil, and legal sanctions. Examples of prohibited P2P software include (but are not limited to): LimeWire, BearShare, uTorrent, BitComet, and Transmission.
