Why does Apple’s Drive Setup say that my Firewire drive is not supported?

0

Apple never updated Drive Setup in any version of Mac OS 9 to be able to recognize, and format a firewire drive. However, Disc Utility, included in Mac OS X, can format and partition Firewire drives. If you own Mac OS X we recommend using that software because it includes both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X drivers. OWC also bundles Intech Hard Disk Speed Tools with all OWC Mercury FireWire drives – that utility will reformat FireWire drives perfectly also.
