Why does an avocado have so many calories?
Avocados contain MUFAs (mono-unsaturated fatty acids). These are also known as “good fats”. They help you body, and are different than the “bad fats” found in sugar and candy and chocolate and fried foods and so on. Still, they are fats. And fats contain higher amounts of calories. Also, avocados are creamy in texture and taste. It is a good rule of thumb that something that is creamy (milk, cheese, yougurt, soups, salad dressings, ect.) tend to be high calorie, because creaminess usually comes from fats.
