Why does AlphaDetail require partial DEA numbers?
[top] AlphaDetail collects registration information to ensure that only licensed US physicians with unique DEA numbers are invited to and participate in AlphaSessions. We are legally obligated to conduct a rigorous verification since most of the material presented in AlphaSessions is FDA regulated and not appropriate for the general population (i.e., it is physician oriented and does not follow the strict guidelines that direct-to-consumer information must follow). AlphaDetail matches the last 5 digits of the DEA numbers entered on our registration page to a database of valid DEA numbers and names. The partial DEA number provides enough information for verification while protecting sensitive information.
