Netscape Navigator 4.5 and 4.7 uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) differently than the earlier versions of Navigator, and Adobe viewers cannot display PDF files correctly in these versions. To see if a PDF is being served vie SSL, check the window labeled “Netsite” at the top of your Netscape browser. If the URL in the window begins with “https://,” then document is being served via Netscape’s HTTPS protocol, which deliver documents via SSL.
