Why does Adam and eve fall for Satans temptation?
First of all, Adam and Eve weren’t in paradise; they were in the Garden of Eden which was a very different kind of place. Second, Satan has gotten a bum rap in this whole story because the Bible never mentions him in connection with Adam and Eve. (Look it up!) What the Bible mentions is a serpent, who also gets a bum rap because he was only trying to be helpful. It isn’t the serpent’s fault that his judgment turned out bad for Adam and Eve, he gave the best advice he could under extenuating circumstances. I personally believe that the serpent understood that Adam and Eve were going to develop a dietary deficiency if they didn’t help themselves to the fruits of that particular tree. As I say, he was only trying to help.
Perhaps if you would read the bible you would find out that in Gen 2:17 the tree they were forbidden was not the tree of life but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Actually He told Adam because Eve had not yet been created, but since Adam had been told he was in charge, he was held responsible. 1) Maybe when you get to stand before God you can ask Him to clarify His decision whether to allow or disallow things. 2) Again the lack of inaccuracy in the question shows not reading the scriptures that relate to the temptation of Adam and Eve.
The Garden of Eden is simply a parable. It’s a shame that they’re even called Adam and Eve because in the garden they were Man and Woman. Man is the person, Woman is one part of the soul, and the Serpent another part (the intellect- or otherwise the material attachment). By listening to the Serpent, Adam (the first to receive this intellect), is born into our world of opposites, and marries a woman named Eve. 1) It is paradise because there is no reason to want that fruit to them; that is, before the Serpent. 2) No, they did not have eternal life; not without eating of the Tree of Life (not to be confused with eating the fruit).
