Why does ActivStats freeze on my home computer?
On Windows computers, NetBEUI is a network protocol for IBM-created LAN networks, and IPX/SPX is a protocol for Windows sockets. Unless your computer is connected via Ethernet to other PC computers, these are not necessary, and are probably causing the problems. Bring up the network control panel and deactivate these protocols, and also the Microsoft Client. If your system is continuously trying to hook up to one of these non-existent services, then you should also see a huge gain while using your computer after these are removed.
