Why does a students account still show the scholarship as pending?
Since the actual tuition and mandatory fees cannot be determined until after the add/drop period ends, the scholarship is placed in a “pending or anticipated” aid status at the start of the semester. After 5:00 pm on the 12th class date, the scholarship can be authorized by Toulouse Graduate School. However, it might take another week or two, for the award to post on the students account as Financial Aid is the only department that can complete this process. Students that have the pending or anticipated aid will not be dropped from their classes, as the pending status secures their class schedules.
At 5:00 pm on the last day of the add/drop registration period, your tuition and fees for the semester will be finalized and your anticipated aid will be adjusted to reflect the actual award amount. After your award amount is finalized, the Toulouse Graduate School will authorize the scholarship. Upon Toulouse Graduate School authorization, award information will be sent to Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFAS) who post the award on your account. Due to the high demand for scholarship authorizations it may take a week or more to post your final scholarship award. Refunds are administered on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. If your award is posted on a Friday you will not see a disbursement to your account until the following Tuesday. Important: While your scholarship is being posted your anticipated aid will continue to secure your schedule for the semester.
