Depletion of ozone (which consequently makes the hole larger), allows more UV-B to arrive at the Earth’s surface, and UV-B penetrates the dead skin layers and directly damages the DNA in the cells that form new skin. This makes for a “bad sun burn”, and potential for skin cancer too.
