Why does a faux finish cost so much?
Actually it doesn’t. A good faux finish person is much more than a painter. They are artists educated in an art form that is well over 2000 years old. An original piece by a reputable artist can cost around $5000 for a 4′ x 6′ canvas painting. That comes to around $210 per square foot. Most good finish jobs should cost between $3-25 per square foot depending on the difficulty level.
