[ back to top ] The Microlon resin is driven deeper into the pore structure of the metal by the higher compression found in diesel engines. Since the benefits of the Microlon film come from Microlon-to-Microlon contact inside of the engine, more product is required to adequately form the film. It is the Microlon film on the surface of the metal that protects the engine from wear. Turbo-charged and Super turbo-charged diesel engines have even higher than normal compression and require more Microlon liquid than an average diesel engine.
