Why does a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe have two catalytic converters?

0

My Santa Fe’s check engine light will not go off! After having my mechanic replace the catalytic converter, the light came back on. I took it to another (recommended) mechanic and now he tells me there are two converters on my car, and that my other mechanic probably replaced the wrong one! Arrrrggggh! I just want my light off so I can pass emissions test. One more thing…both O2 sensors, the exhaust manifold, and a vacuum leak have all been found/fixed on this car in addition to the converter, still the check engine light is on!
