Like already said before: it’s the Libero, a person who only functions in the back row. They have to wear a different contrasting shirt so the referee doesn’t get confused. A libero usually replaces the middle hitter (because they’re often the worst defenders) when being in the back row, but they can replace any player in the back row. A libero is not allowed to do any kind of offensive/attacking actions from any position. They’re not allowed to serve, block and can’t do any setting in the front row. They also can’t be the captain of his/her team. A libero can switch in and out of the field as often as he wants, but there needs to be at least 1 rally played in between going out and back into of the field.
