Why do you think there has never been a genuinely good film adaptation of a video game?

The reason i think most of the time there hasnt been a good movie of a video game is that they dont keep true to the game feel. They already got to change something to mess it up. Example Doom, i love the doom games, but they changed the idea of the plot, instead of a gateway to hell, some person think it be nice to change people genes. Mario Brothers, enjoyed the game but they went off the deep side trying to make it fit more in our reality than what the game was created in. I wont even talk about Street Fighter the first one, pretend that one dont exist. Resident Evil, i enjoyed the games, i dont think the movies are too bad but they could have done better. I dont care to much for the 3rd movie and as i said in another post, they should go back and reinvent Resident Evil, start over but keep true to the mystery and setting of the game. Not too thrilled about the clone Alices that may be running around in the 4th movie since from what i last read, she is going to reprise her role in t
