Probably because many of the best designs were not entered as the copyright had to be given to Ausflag regardless of whether the entry became a winner. Even the designers of the top 100 entries are not acknowledged by name on the Ausflag website – acknowledgement was limited to the finalists. In the last competition for professional designers Ausflag claim copyright ownership of some 3500 designs, despite having given nothing in exchange for such claimed copyright acquisition.
