Why do you say the pledge of allegiance to the flag?
You say the Pledge of Allegiance because you should express your loyalty to your country. You say the pledge to the American flag because the flag is the symbol of the United States of America. You can’t say a pledge to the whole country so you say it to the country’s symbol. So when you say the pledge to the flag remember that you’re saying it to your country.
