Why do you Eastern European Countries seem to be better in Handball than WEstern Countries?

Handball is one of the most popular sports in pretty much all of Europe, particularly in following countries – Germany, Spain, France, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Croatia, Slovenia, Poland… and so on. I believe that the main reason why Europeans are so incredibly dominant in this sport is because there is so much more interest for it here then anywhere else in the world. All these countries that I mentioned before have very rich handball tradition and really invest a lot in this sport. They give players huge contracts, offer them a lot of money and look to improve their leagues and find new talent all the time (this goes particularly for German and Spanish league, but all others previously mentioned are very close behind).
