Why do you automatically get signed out of landweb direct after a period of inactivity?
As part of the security design for landweb direct there is an inactivity time out period, which is currently set to 20 minutes. This means that if the service is not used for a period of 20 minutes within a session, the system will automatically sign you out and you will have to wait for 10 minutes before you can sign back in. The service is classed as ‘not used’ if you have not undertaken any activity within landweb direct, ie. clicked on a button or image to activate a function such as a search or viewing of an image. Originally the inactivity time out period was set to 10 minutes, which is the industry standard, but the pilot group asked for it to be increased to 20 minutes. The ‘lock out’ time remains at 10-minutes after you have been automatically signed out. As the 10-minute delay can be frustrating, a new sign out facility is being developed for landweb direct which will enable you to sign back into the system immediately.
