Why do yanks only play sports no-one else does then call it a world series?
Because the newspaper that sponsored the series was called the world – hence world series, could have been the guardian series, but that name has stuck Basketball is a wicked sport, I wish we played it here more, I think it’s probably the best sport in the world. Baseball is cool, not much different in boredom factor from cricket, and American football which should be called throw ball due to the absence of using feet, is actually the nuts too – a lot better than rugger And with cricket, snooker, darts etc… there’s plenty of sports we play that the Yanks don’t, and there’s no problem with that, as long as we, and they, enjoy them….. I think it’s sad that there’s nothing to do in England but watch footie, I wish I could watch a big basketball game every night I wanted to, or an American footie game … or something in the summer, instead of Durham v Glamorgan with 120 spectators and no atmos!
