Why do WWF Passport holders need to use a user name and password to take action?

Answer… The combination of a user name and password ensures that you are only taking action through your own Passport. Since we have many different people with the same name, allowing people to take action with only their user name could cause endless confusion, increasing chances of seeing the message ‘This username already exists’ or logging you in as somebody else. The username-password combination also creates a unique identity so that the campaign points you earn are correctly awarded to you. Also without a password option, one mistake while logging in would keep your computer logged in as a different user till you delete that cookie, since Passport is a cookie-based application.
