Why Do Windows Speed Problems Occur?
Some computer experts attribute the fast majority of speed issues to problems in the Windows registry. Over time the registry gets cluttered with unused entries which in turn, can cause corruption and errors. Windows contains thousands of individual features and the typical computer user will install hundreds of programs. Every single one of these features and programs use the registry to store information and settings, but as features change and programs are upgraded or uninstalled they will leave behind data in the registry that can cause: hangs, freezes and crashes.
