Why do we spend our time asking pointless questions and telling our problems to people we dont know???
You know that’s a great question. It seems like potential thesis study material for social psychology. What first came to mind was the Dear Abby newspaper column phenomenon, and how that has spread to television polling. Many prime time news shows include a viewer feedback segment, look at O’Reilly. Some people seem to be venting when they call in to the Washington Journal, they wait and try for hours before they get connected. When someone writes a letter to Dear Abby, it is one among tens of thousands of viewer letters. It has to be chosen to be answered, then that is by one person in one newspaper column weeks later. By that time Abby’s opinion probably doesn’t matter to the letter writer. On Yahoo answers, a persons question is quaranteed to be published, answers are immediate, and there are frequently twenty or more responses to good questions, frequently from professionals. How good is that for the people who love to ask questions? Then , how about all of the Dear Abby types who
