Why do we seem to be supporting the implementation of Regional Control Centres?

0

Government have indicated that the creation of Regional Control Centres is the solution to call handling and mobilisation of the Fire Service. They feel it provides Best Value to the public and supports the drive for greater resilience in case of large-scale emergencies. As such we need now to plan for the introduction of these Regional Control Centres. This means ensuring our current Control Centre remains effective until the Regional one is operational; that functions which will not be transferred to the new centre can still be effectively undertaken; and, most importantly, that we look after our current staff during the transition phase.
