Why do we pay for recycling services, when Happy Stans sells the materials?
Happy Stans does sell the material once it has been received, sorted, baled and then shipped. The sale of Material only represents about 40% of our revenue that is why we need to charge for services in order to balance the cost of collection, processing and recycling. In addition, there are certain material types which cost us money to recycle either due to the complexity of the item, or the type of materials used to create a certain products. For example, it cost money to recycle a computer monitor because the lead contained in that monitor is a hazardous substance and needs to be treated as such.
