We can not depend on Federal funding to provide the funds that are much needed for our road and bridge construction, maintenance and repair programs. The original 2009 stimulus funding has been exhausted. There is no certainty that additional infrastructure dollars will be available through a new federal program. Safetea-LUʼs extension on the federal transportation spending legislation (approaching one year overdue) is set to expire on December 31, 2010.
