Why do we need StudentProfiler if we have SASI (our student systems software)?
StudentProfiler is a data integration product. It takes information from various databases including SASI. StudentProfiler contains much more data than SASI. It contains lunch purchases, lunch account balances, progress toward the high standards, test scores, and portfolio contents. A student’s portfolio may contain images, audio samples, or video clips. Also, StudentProfiler allows parents and educators to access data easily and securely using an encrypted web browser connection. StudentProfiler doesn’t house live data, and as such, our live data is not vulnerable due to any attack of someone trying to break into StudentProfiler. StudentProfiler was designed specifically for security purposes. Having a data warehouse such as StudentProfiler allows us to change student systems or lunch systems and maintain many years of historical data.
