Why do we need a new, Family Y when we already many other public and private fitness centres in the region?
A. The Family Y has been serving our community since 1877 and the new regional recreation centre will be the third Family Y facility. There are several different fitness centres in our region, and each works with its own client group in its own way. The Family Y works with people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and financial situations. As a charity, the Family Y fundraises to provide financial assistance so that low income is not a barrier for participation. Over the Y’s history, it has addressed and responded to the needs of people throughout the Grey and Bruce region.
