Watches and clocks take longer to repair because of the length of time needed to obtain the appropriate parts. Many parts are usually made in — and must be shipped from — Asia. After the parts are received, it takes an additional week or two to clean and reassemble the piece and to make sure that it is timed correctly (that all the mechanics are working in coordination).
