Why do Vietnamese in Vietnam need Tri Viet when they already have Yahoo?
One of our main objectives is to assist Vietnamese in Vietnam in gaining knowledge on specific subject matters quickly. Yahoo was not designed for this purpose. Rather, it is a directory. Users have to navigate through this huge directory to find the right information. This process is often time-consuming, and is largely dependent on the users’ level of knowledge. The result is often inconsistent. In addition, most Vietnamese users do not have sufficient English to quickly absorb the web site content, thus more time will be wasted searching instead of learning. Finally, Yahoo search’s results provide fragmented information, with each piece of information scattered on different sites. Tri’ Viet on the other hand, has one “virtual book” for each subject matter, thus allowing readers to concentrate and learn about the complete subject matter from A to Z.
