Why do vegetarians and vegans drive cars when petrol and oil are animal products?

Q Vegetarians and vegans shouldn’t drive cars. Petrol and oil are animal products! A Vegetarians and vegans avoid animal products so as to reduce the demand for animals to be bred and killed unnecessarily TODAY. With petroleum being made from plants and animals (mainly plants) that died and decayed millions of years ago, how would it help animals for vegetarians and vegans to avoid using it? It doesn’t make sense for them to do this – the animals died from natural causes millions of years ago. The animals were not bred by human beings to specifically be killed for meat, they were not kept by humans in conditions that prevented their natural behaviour, they were not sent to slaughter by humans as soon as the were ready to be eaten or when their egg or milk production declined etc. Technically I guess you could say that petroleum products do contain animal products, but we do not see the issue to be of concern.
