Why Do Various Materials Reflect, Absorb Or Transmit Light In Different Ways?
Color, composition, and thickness all have a part in the diversity of materials and there interaction with light. The darker a material the more heat it absorbs, the softer a material the longer it will hold the heat, and the more mass it has the more heat in can hold. It stands to reason a large, dark, and somewhat soft type of material will become much hotter than one that is light in color, smaller in area, and harder to penetrate will.
