Why do USA congressmen complain the banks own the congress?
It works better when private enterprise owns banks. This creates competition. the market is dictated by supply and demand, not by government setting prices. If the government owned banks they could seize your accounts if they felt they wanted to. If the government owned my bank I would remove my money. Private enterprise is what this country was founded on. And don’t give me crap about ‘look what happened with subprime loans’. People need to be held accountable for their actions. The government opening to door to qualify people who weren’t qualified to own a mortgage is mostly how the subprime market got opened to begin with. The government needs to stay out of people’s lives. If you want to go live in canada, china, or europe because you feel socialism works go ahead. But please don’t force your ideas on a system that is already working.
