Why Do University professors think that Wikipedia is unreliable source of information?

I’m with you and this is the plight of students everywhere. It seems that the public believes it’s unreliable because anyone can edit it. However, they seem to ignore that sources are cited and Wikipedia itself does post warnings about reliability. It annoys me every time a teacher gives it the thumbs down. I use it anyways. But your college professor is saying that you need to do more work for the research. I don’t mind that argument as much.
