Why do two schools have two different scheduling models?
There are many more than two high school scheduling models. Each school adopts a model that best serves its own students’ and curricular needs. Research, most prominently cited in Breaking Ranks and Breaking Ranks II, and the NEASC standards for high school accreditation, cite the need for schools to develop flexible learning schedules that will support innovative approaches to teaching and learning, rather than a specific model of schedule.
