Every time I buy a new set of New Balance sneakers I have to go through the process of shortening the laces after constantly trying to deal with the long laces by creating crazy knots. There are many google hits on how to shorten or tie knots to deal with extremely long laces but none telling why laces are made so long. I emailed New Balance 3 times and they have offered to replace the laces but can’t tell me why the laces are long.
