Why do they make Miss USA contestants speak?
They want to show that the girls are well-rounded and will “try” to make a difference in the world (even though that’s not what usually happens). I think that it shows to people in America that they do care, even though they may just be pulling things out of their butt that are just what the judges want to hear. And, most girls aren’t just brain-dead zombies like many people in America think. It’s a horrible, rude stereotype to think that someone that’s really beautiful is dumb and can’t think on their own. And, I’m not trying to put you down, but you’re not the only one in the world that thinks that.
