Why Do They Call It a “Hung Parliament” in Great Britain and “Coaltion” or “Minority Government” Everywhere Else?
The hung parliament is the condition that can give rise to a coalition or minority government, as best as I (who grew up close to the UK) understand it. A hung parliament is a parliament where no party has a majority. Whether that turns into a coalition government or a minority government, or leads to new elections is undetermined by the condition itself.
