Why do theists state, “Homosexuality is unnatural.” When we see that homosexuality is common in nature?
1. “Homosexuality” – at least among mammals – isn’t common in “nature.” (It isn’t even terribly common in captivity.) Homosexual – or really bisexual – acts are. Which is to say, mature, healthy, mammals in the wild attempt to mate with members of the opposite sex during mating season. Examples to the contrary are found only among confused, inexperienced adolescents, or among the adult loosers in the competition to secure a mate of the opposite sex. The Biblical category of “Unnatural” does not mean “does not happen naturally; cannot be found in nature.” It means “leading unto decay and death; unregenerate; not beneficial or conducive to life.” Biblically, death and disease are also “unnatural”.
