Why do the White Sox players wear black socks?
A. Katie Kirby, director of public relations for the Chicago White Sox, says the players do wear white socks, but the stirrups, which are part of the uniforms, are black, so it might look like they are wearing black socks, but they arent. They are just regular white socks. The uniform has changed over the years. Currently, the White Sox players wear a black and white uniform for home games and a gray and white uniform for away games. The black stirrups are of a color that compliments both uniforms and has nothing to do with the name of the team.
