Why do the web pages appear in a foreign alphabet?
Go to the View menu, go down to Encoding, and look where it says Auto-Select – if it is on there will be a mark to the left of it. Make sure Auto-Select is off. Then go back to Encoding and make sure that “Western European (ISO)” is selected (has a mark next to it), click on it if it doesn’t. Now go to the Tools menu, and choose Internet Options and click on the Languages button. Click on “English (United Kingdom) [en-gb]” in the list, and use the Move Up button to put it at the top of the list if it isn’t already. Then click OK until you exit from the options. Now click the Refresh button. The page should hopefully reappear correctly.
