Why do the turkey vultures keep circling?

This year, every time I go for one of those long walks with my bow, I end up with company. It’s gotten so bad that I just don’t look up anymore. Every time I do look up, they are there. The turkey vultures. At first, I thought they might be following me on the outside chance I might actually get a turkey. But then I asked a friend and good turkey hunter about it, and he assured me they don’t eat turkeys. They eat dead things. Preferably things that have ripened a bit. I started to wonder if I was walking with a limp? I found myself trying to spend more time under the trees. But they always find me anyway. Circling, circling.
