Why do the toilets in public washrooms flush so much more powerfully than the toilets found inside peoples homes?
The toilets in people’s homes flush by releasing the water in the tank, by gravity, into the bowl. Most commercial toilets don’t have a tank and use a timed opening of the water valve to accomplish flushing. The water enters the bowl under much more pressure than a gravity fed bowl, producing a more powerful, and usually more complete, flush. Noise and higher water usage are the primary reasons we don’t use these toilets in the home.
